Saint Laurent

. . . where the curtain of the past seemed to lift before an extraordinary future

Yves Saint Laurent

IMG_3332I saw the 3 o’clock showing of the 2014 movie Saint Laurent, the movie that covered the time period 1967-1976.  On the surface it was marvelous, but cigarette after cigarette, pill after pill, gaze after gaze was so terribly boring:  I can only imagine how tormented one must have felt being so close to a genius who bored you to tears.  The soundtrack was stupendous with a mix of Callas and Velvet Underground and Bach and other music of the times.

I was the only person in the theater.  The only person.
